President Muhammadu Buhari Monday hosted members of his party, where the report of a committee it set up on restructuring was considered. Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Bukola Saraki; Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the house of representatives, current and past state governors of the ruling party, members of the national assembly, among others attended the meeting, which held at the Banquet Hall of Nigeria’s presidential palace, Aso Villa, Abuja.
The meeting started around 8:20pm, according to media reports and discussed the review of the APC constitution and consideration of report on true federalism as well as other matters.
However, Bola Tinubu, national leader of the All Progressives Congress, who the president appointed to lead reconciliation among feuding party members, was absent. Also conspicuously missing was his Man Friday, Bisi Akande, who once an interim leader of the ruling party.
The APC is expected to hold its national executive council meeting scheduled for APC headquarters on Tuesday.
