President Muhammadu Buhari Tuesday “summoned” the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, who he earlier admitted flouted his order to relocate to Benue over the bloodletting in the state. NAN reported the IGP met with the president for about 30 minutes and declined to make a statement to waiting journalists after the meeting. The news agency said it believed President Buhari demanded of the IGP full report of police operations in the state following the presidential order. ‘”`It is believed tha the president demanded for a full report on police operations till date after which he will make further decisions”, said an alleged source as quoted in the report . “”There is a renewed resolve to make sure that the killings and bad security situation in Benue State abates,’’ the source reportedly said further. Garba Shehu, a senior media assistant to the president, reportedly confirmed the meeting but refused to disclose details.
