Corp Member, Driver, 2 Final Year Students Die In Auto-crash

An accident which occurred along the Unilorin Teaching hospital Road, Oke-Ose, Ilorin, has reportedly claimed the lives of a corp member, two final year students of Kwara State Polytechnic and the driver of a cab, they were all in.

The cab driver was said to have lost control of the car which led to the incident. Two of the victims, the final year students were said to be returning home after the day's exam.

Few days ago, it was reported that a corps member identified as Debbie,  who was deployed to Lagos state for her service year, was involved in a train accident in Ikeja area of the state. Her body was said to be seriously mangled from the accident which eventually claimed her life.

An eyewitness who spoke on the incident said; ”the train was not moving at a high speed. People tried to call her attention to the incoming train but she didn’t yield to the call as she continued pressing her mobile phone.

“I was looking at her from where I stood and saw her with an earpiece plugged into her ears which made her unable to hear the sound of the incoming train.” he said

Prince Mohammed Momoh, the Lagos state coordinator of NYSC, also confirmed the incident. Momoh had earlier announced that the corps member survived the accident, but later said she died while receiving treatment at the intensive care unit of the Lagos state University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH.

“We lost the corps member just now. I heard the neurosurgeon and the orthopaedic doctors said they would conduct further investigations on her. But regrettably we lost her," Momoh said.
