Mathieu Debuchy has beaten Paris Saint Germain's Neymar to the Ligue 1 Player of the Month for February. The former Arsenal defender, who now plays for Saint Etienne, has been impressive since his move to the side in January. The Frenchman has bagged two goals in six games, proving he still possesses the magic that caught Arsenal's eye when he was at Newcastle.
The 32-year-old becomes the first defender to win the award in five years as he makes a last ditch effort to make the French team to the Russia 2018 World Cup.
Neymar was heavily tipped for the award after scoring 19 goals in 20 games before his injury. The award could have been his last for the season after injury ruled him out for the remainder of the current one.
