A 26-year-old man, Olowobola Gboyega Samuel has been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate Court for allegedly impersonating Greece Embassy.
The defendant was said to have posted a publication on a website – www.kukutravels.com, that Kuku travels and tours issues Greece and Shengai Visas for the sum of Eight Hundred Thousand Naira (N800, 000).
The defendant reportedly defrauded unsuspecting members of the public, seeking entry visa to travel to Europe.
Police prosecutor, identified simply as Benson, told the court that Samuel committed the offence on March 1, 2018 at No. 48 Allen Avenue in the Ikeja area of Lagos state. He said the offence contravened and punishable under Section 380 of the Criminal Law of Lagos sate, 2015.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the lone count charge of impersonation preferred against him.
Presiding magistrate, B.O. Osunsanmi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N300, 000 with two sureties in like sum. She said that the sureties must be gainfully employed with verified tax payment and addresses.
The case was adjourned till July 2, 2018.
