Sky Sports will hold a meeting to decide former Liverpool player, Jamie Carragher's fate after footage of him spitting at a 14-year-old girl emerged. The victim and her dad had been driving some miles away from Old Trafford, where Liverpool were beaten 2-1 by Manchester United on Saturday, before the retired defender spat at her. In the footage, the driver of the car, the victim's father, had been making banter at Carragher making him spit at the car as he drove past them.
Carragher has however apologised for his actions claiming he did not see the girl sitting in the passenger side. He told newsmen that he would contact the family today and apologise again.
Fans across social media have called for his dismissal from his £1 million job. Already, Carragher has been axed from the Champions League coverage of Danish channel, TV3 Sport, between Manchester United and Sevilla.
Newsbreak.ng recalls that Carragher had said in a Sportsmail column in 2015 that he was once spat at by a Russian midfielder, Aleksandr Mostovoi. He had said he was ''shocked more than angry when he did it because I couldn't believe what had happened.''
