Rapper Craig Mack, popular for his single ‘Flava In Ya Ear’, has died. He died at the age of 46. The Hip-hop artist, who rose to prominence in the 1990s, died on Monday night of heart failure. Mack was one of the pioneer artists signed to the defunct Bad Boy Records by Puff Daddy in the early ’90s and gave the label its first successful rap single with ’Flava In Ya Ear.’ After the success of the original, the song’s remix introduced the world to The Notorious BIG, whose debut “Ready To Die” wound up outselling Mack’s ”Project: Funk Da World” by a significant amount. Mack’s death was confirmed by a number of the MCs, DJs, and producers who knew him, including Biz Markie, Funkmaster Flex, and DJ Scratch. Mack is one of talents which Diddy (then Puff Daddy) launched his imprint Bad Boy Records in 1993, the same label that produced The Notorious B.I.G., Ma$e, Total, Carl Thomas, Faith Evans, 112, Black Rob, G Dep, French Montana, Machine Gun Kelly, and of course Diddy himself. Craig Mack will forever be remembered for his ‘Flava In Ya Ear’ remix. Released almost 25 years ago in 1994, it became very popular thanks to its all-star remix that featured LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, The Notorious B.I.G. and Rampage.
