Arsene Wenger, Arsenal manager, has reportedly identified Germany international Bernd Leno as an ideal replacement for ageing Petr Cech. The North Londoners are believed to be in the market for a goalkeeper to take over first team duties from 35-year-old Cech. The Czech Republic star has made more errors leading to goals than any other player in the Premier League this season. A record that is likely to cost him his place in the team next season.
However, the Gunners will have to beat Liverpool and Napoli, who are also said to be interested in the Bayer Leverkusen stopper. Napoli are said to be preparing a bid in the range of £15 million for the German while Arsenal are ready to bid £25 million.
Leno has started all 31 of Leverkusen's matches across all competitions this season.
