The Peoples Democratic Party, Kogi chapter, on Monday, described the state Governor Yahaya Bello as a “kindergarten governor”, saying his inexperience was the reason he dissolved his cabinet, only to reverse the decision shortly after at the weekend. The opposition party said the governor’s action manifested “delinquent governance”, adding such “rigmarole decision” was a sign of the administration’s brazen ineptitude. Achadu Dickson, the director research and documentation of the PDP, said frequent policy inconsistencies showed the governor was not in charge and did not have a mind of his own to govern a complex state like Kogi. The party listed what it termed to be the governor’s inconsistencies to include his decision to destroy all roundabouts in the state capital, staff screening exercise, the planned sale of government properties. “Rather than continue with his trial and error kind of administration, where his subordinates call the shot, the governor should seek further knowledge in leadership and governance. “Without mincing words, Kogi State is too big for Governor Bello to manage, the state will certainly be in more trouble if the governor is not replaced in 2019 by the PDP”. The party asked Governor Bello to pay workers’ salaries and to urgently meet the demand of medical doctors being owed four months strike due to non-payment of their salaries.
