Police Arrest Six Suspected Cultists In Lagos



The Lagos State Police Command has arrested six suspected cultists in Odi-Olowo, Mushin Area of the state.

The suspects include; Quam Owolabi, 28; Michael Esho, 38; Adegbola Idris, 28; Mufutau Abogunde, 34; Rasaki Shittu, 34; and Oluwasina Lawal, 18.

Edgal Imohimi, Commissioner of Police in the state, disclosed this while parading the suspects on Tuesday at the command, Ikeja. He said operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, FSARS and some undercover officers of the state police, had swung into action following information by some concerned residents.

He said the suspects, who were arrested on March 22 allegedly disturbed the peace of Railway Line. The CP said some dangerous weapons including four axes, five cutlasses, three jack knives, two daggers and assorted charms were recovered from the suspects.

He added that the case will be charged to court after investigation is concluded.

Also, The CP said three members of an armed robbery gang were arrested at their hideout in Imota area of Ikorodu. He said the suspects, Destiny Oluwaseun, 24; Bakare Olayinka, 23; and Sodiq Oladipo, 25, were arrested with a locally made pistol ‘cut to size’.

While adding that effort was ongoing to arrest other members of the group, Imohimi urged residents in the state to inform the police of any suspicious activities in their respective neighbourhoods.
