Team Nigeria on Sunday ended its campaign at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia with 24 medals. Table Tennis sensation, Aruna Quadri closed Nigeria’s medal haul after winning silver in the men’s table-tennis singles.
The Nigerian contingent finished the games with nine golds, nine silvers and six bronze medals. It placed ninth on the log behind Australia, England, India, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, Wales and Scotland respectively.
The Para Athletes accounted for five gold medals, while wrestlers won three and athletics one.
Newsbreak recalls Nigeria had placed eighth at the 2014 edition of the games with 36 medals, including 11 gold.
