Nigerian sprinter, Seye Ogunlewe clocked a season's best of 10.19 seconds but was not enough to win a medal at the Men's 100m event at the ongoing Commonwealth Games. The 26-year-old finished at the same time as Jamaica's Yohan Blake but the former crossed the finish line before him.
South Africa claimed both Gold and Silver in the event as Akani Simbine finished first in 10.03s while Henricho Bruintjies crossed the line at 10.17s. Another Nigerian, Enoch Adegoke finished seventh.
Newsbreak.ng recalls that Ogunlewe almost missed the tournament after a disagreement with the Athletics Federation of Nigeria.
