A man is to serve four months in prison for stealing a mobile phone at Utako Motor Park, in Abuja. The convict, Ikeh Chigozie, of Gwoko Village, Gwagwalada, Abuja, reportedly stole a Gionee P8 cell phone valued at N32, 000 in December 2017.
Zannan Dalhatu, the prosecutor, said the phone belonged to one Nathaniel Afam of Mararaba, Nasarawa State, who reported the matter at the Utako Police Station, Abuja, on April 20.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened Section 288 of the Penal Code. Ruling, Abubakar Sadiq, judge of the Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, said the sentencing would deter others from committing similar crime.
