The Lagos State Police Command has arrested Alabi Ifeoluwa, a final year student of international relation of ESCARE Benin University from Oyo state and Gbagudi Marusi a citizen of Benin Republic at Idi-Iroko area of Lagos state.
Edgal Imohimi, Lagos Police Commissioner in a press briefing told journalist that the suspect on February 26, 2018, put a called one Innocent Ikhigbenareme with a strange number (+14236070207) and threatened him to pay a ransom of six hundred thousand naira or risk been killed.
They further instructed Ikhigbenareme to get the money ready and bring it to a location that would be convened to him, the victim had to stay away from his house to buy himself more time.
He requested for a bank detail where he can make a transfer to which was obliged, he went further to report the case to the command Anti-kidnapping unit.
The intelligence component of the command investigated and found out that the suspects were operating from Idi-Iroko, they confessed to have gotten their victim on Facebook and exploited the information they got from the platform.
Imohimi said the suspects would have their day in court at the conclusion of investigation.
