A Lagos magistrate’s court has ordered the remand in prison of six persons earlier arrested for defecating on the premises of Oduduwa Secondary School, located on Ladipo Street, in the Mushin area of Lagos. The defendants are Sunday Chukwudi, Yayadu Adamu, James Sam, Eze Chinonso, Chimeze Osobie and Nkwazema Chinonso. The defendants were also accused of belonging to a cult group and turning the school premises to an Indian hemp-smoking joint. They pleaded “not guilty” to the three counts the police preferred against them, following which the Presiding Magistrate, O.A Layinka, granted each of the defendants N50,000 bail with two sureties in the like sums. The defendants remand is pending the perfection of their bail conditions. Before the order for their remand, the police told the court that the school management reported the defendants would sneak into the school at night to smoke and defecate on the premises. The case was adjourned till 19 April, 2018.
