Two burglars were caught carting away goods worth millions of naira at the Trade-Fair Complex, Lagos/Badagry Expressway on Thursday. Edgal Imohimi, the Lagos state Commissioner of Police, told journalists at a press briefing on Friday that the suspects were arrested around 10pm by the DPO Trade-Fair Division, SP Sunny Akaeze. He said that Akaeze had got a tip-off that the suspects were looting shops in the BBA arm of the complex. Imohimi said based on the information, the DPO promptly dispatched his operatives led by the DCO to the Kaduna Plaza Shop D-108 on surveillance. The suspects, Ifeanyi Okafor, 30, of Ayo Shobowale Street, Ira-Ojo, Lagos and one Okonkwo Nnamdi, 30, of Shop 108, Kebbi Plaza BBA were apprehended with thirty-nine (39) cartons of Sneakers worth millions of naira. During interrogation, it was discovered that the first suspect, Okafor Ifeanyi, was a former trader within the complex who went bankrupt and sold his shop. He decided to take to stealing to launch himself back to business. The second suspect, Okonkwo Nnamdi, on the other hand owns Shop 108 at Kebbi Plaza BBA. Both suspects mentioned one Tupac, who is now on the run, as an accomplice. Recovered from the suspects include: one saw-blade, one damaged padlock used by the Chinese owner to lock his shop. Investigation is in progress and suspects will be charged to court soon.
