Football fans in Argentina have voted uncapped goalkeeper, Franco Armani as their first choice in the 2018 World Cup.
River Plate’s Armani gathered 65 percent of the poll conducted by MundoAlbiceleste, a sports website, to beat Wilfredo Caballero with 34 and Nahuel Guzman got only 11 percent of the votes.
Sergio Romero, the team’s first choice stopper sustained a knee injury on Tuesday, ruling him out of the tournament.
Argentina will face Nigeria’s Super Eagles on June 26 in its last Group D game. The two-time world champions will also face Croatia and Iceland.
