The Nigerian Senate has moved into an executive session. The Senate broke into the session barely five minutes after it began the day’s proceeding.
The senate is expected to deliberate on the report of its committee on judiciary and legal matters, which it mandated last week to probe the $496million unappropriated procurement of 12 fighter jets by President Muhammadu Buhari.
More so, the senate is expected to grill Inspector-General of Police Ibrahim Idris on the worsening security situation in the country, the invasion of the senate and the snatching of its mace which the police later recovered. In its Order Paper dated May 2, the Senate said it would receive briefing from the IGP on the “inhuman treatment of distinguished Senator Dino Melaye”.
