Fayose Mocks Buhari, Obasanjo Over $16bn Power Project

Ayodele Fayose, Governor of Ekiti state, has mocked President Muhammadu Buhari and Ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo over their ongoing spat about the former's spendings on power projects.

''I'm enjoying this latest brickbats between President Buhari & Ex-President Obasanjo. They should keep exposing themselves for Nigerians to know what they have been hiding.

''Nigerians should remember I warned that those who brought Buhari will regret entrusting him with power,'' he said on Twitter.

Buhari had queried the spending of $16 billion on the project while he met with members of the Buhari Support Organisation, BSO, led by Hameed Ali, comptroller-general of the Nigeria Customs Service at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday.

“Where was the power after a former president claimed to have spent $16 billion on the project?

“You know the rail was killed and one of the former heads of state was bragging that he spent more than 15 billion American dollars on power. Where is the power? Where is the power?” he asked.

Obasanjo has since responded saying Buhari is ignorant. He said he had been cleared of corruption by various investigative panels set up by the National Assembly and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
