More details have emerged on the female lawyer, who murdered her husband, Otiki Odibi, and severed his manhood, on May 3, at Diamond Estate in the Ajah area of Lagos. The killer wife, Udeme Odibi, 47, also attempted to stab her self to death but survived the self-inflicted wound after neighbours rushed her to the hospital.
Edgal Imohimi, the Commissioner of Police for Lagos, during a briefing on Monday claimed the murder was “premeditated”. He further said the suspect had procured new set of knives which she planned to use for the murder.
“The killing is suspected to be premeditated”, Edgal said.
“The suspect (Odibi) had packed all her certificates including the O’level and had made all necessary arrangement to travel to the United Kingdom, UK, on Thursday morning, May 3, 2018. via Virgin Atlantic airline,” the police boss added. The police said the autopsy is being done on the corpse at the Lagos State University.
“The forensic analysis result is being compiled and will be made public later.”
The deceased was found on his bed in a pool of blood. His severed manhood was tucked into his lifeless hands.
Prior to his death, the victim alerted his mother and brother to the threat by his wife to stab him to death. He was assured there would not be any problem.
The couple were childless, but Otiki had had a child with his first wife.
