Babatunde Fashola, Minister of Power, Works and Housing, has said that the rehabilitation of the Ikorodu-Sagamu Expressway will be ready in three years. He said this at the flagging off of the rehabilitation in the Ikorodu area of Lagos state on Monday.
Attending the event were: Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora; Ayodele Elesho, a former Lagos commissioner for information, who represented Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu; Babajimi Benson, member representing Ikorodu federal constitutuency at the house of representatives, and Gbenga Ashafa, representing the Lagos East senatorial district.
Others include Abiodun Ogunlewe, a former deputy governor of Lagos state and Wael Salem, Managing Director of Arab Contractors Nigeria Limited.
Babajimi Benson, representative of Ikorodu constituency in the House of Representatives, had announced via a tweet on Sunday that the rehabilitation of the road would begin on Monday.
Residents of the area will heave a sigh of relief at the development after complaining of gridlock as well as accidents on the road.
