Man Dispatched To Prison For Bathing Fiancée With Acid


Jealousy has been dispatched to the gaol, after an Ebutte Meta Magistrates’ Court heard he bathed his fiancée with acid in the Idi-Oro area of Lagos state.

Lukman Madotti, 33, reportedly suspect his fiancée, Toyin Muyiba, 20, of cheating and allegedly attacked her with acid.

Police Prosecutor, ASP Clara Adegbayi, told the court Madotti committed the offence on April 9 at 6.00 a.m. at No. 11, Alhaji Lasisi St., Idi-Oro, Mushin, Lagos. More so, the prosecutor said Madotti’s offence contravened Section 230 (1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The court didn’t take Madotti’s plea and directed he be remanded in Ikoyi Prisons.

The offence attracts life imprisonment, if found guilty.

The trial Magistrate O.A. Olagbende adjourned the case until June 4 pending the advice from the Department of Public Prosecution’s office.
