Man Docked For Possessing Dead Person’s Fez Cap

The police have arraigned a 21-year-old man, Hassan Rasheed before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court, in Lagos, for allegedly possessing a fez cap belonging to a murder victim

Rasheed, of no fixed address, was charged with unlawful possession of the item.

The prosecutor, Insp. Maria Dauda, told the court that the accused committed the offence on March 26 at Ajeniya Street, Obalende, Lagos Island. Dauda said the defendant was unable to explain how he came about the item, adding the offence contravened Section 329 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, as revised.

The defendant pleaded “not guilty” to the charge.  The Chief Magistrate, O.O. Olatunji, granted the accused to a bail of N50,000, with one surety in like sum.

Olatunji adjourned the case until June 6 for mention.
