A gunman has reportedly killed a trader, identified only as MM, for allegedly refusing to sell a pack of cigarettes to him and his friends. The deceased, according to PUNCH Metro, was shot in the head at his shop in the Gaa Akanbi area of Ilorin, Kwara state capital.
MM reportedly told them that he had run out of stock, even when one of them pointed to a pack of cigarettes in the shop. He told them that the pack had been bought by another customer.
“The cult members were enraged when he told them that the man that bought the cigarettes was on his way to collect them.
“One of them pulled out his gun and shot MM in the head,” PUNCH quoted a source as saying.
Ajayi Okasanmi, the Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the incident.
“I learnt that there was a killing in the Gaa -Akanbi area yesterday night (Monday), but we are still investigating the incident,” he said.
