A pastor has landed in prison based on a remand order from an Ifo Magistrates’ Court, in Ogun State. Tobilola Ipense, the founder of Holy Garden Ministry Zion C and S Church, had confessed to killing and decapitating Raliat Sanni, a mother of five, with whom he had a tryst. He also admitted the woman was killed for ritual purposes and her corpse buried behind the church building.
Ipense would later change his statement to the police, and this time, alleging his co-pastor, David Sopeju, was responsible for her death. He had said Sopeju and some others had tried to initiate him into a cult. Ipense was later charged alongside a woman, Oluwakemi Ishola.
Ishola was released on bail, while Ipense remains in prison until the next court hearing on 27 July.
He is facing a three-count charge, which include being in possession of human parts.
