Adam Oshiomhole, the former governor of Edo state, has said that Senator Bukola Saraki, the president of Senate, and the Speaker of House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, would lead National Assembly members to his declaration for the national chairmanship position of the All Progressives Congress, APC. He also said Imo Governor Rochas Okorocha would equally lead governors elected on the party’s platform to the event, which would hold at Transcorp Hilton.
The former governor is favoured to replace outgoing chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun. He has been endorsed by President Muhammadu Buhari, who urged the governors to support him. Oshiomhole said he is experienced to lead the party based on his public service records.
“I strongly believe that with the experience I have gathered in my public life, having served as President of NLC, governor of Edo, I have what it takes to take our dear party, the ruling party, to the next level,” he said.
