Omotosho Olushola Charles, an official of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, FSARS, has been arrested for allegedly collecting a bribe of N5000 from one Adegoke Ifeoluwa.
The incident happened on Thursday in the Ikorodu area of Lagos state.
Abayomi Shogunle, the Assistant Commissioner of Police, said this on Twitter while responding to a complaint lodged by Ifeoluwa. He said that “preliminary investigation” was ongoing.
He apologised to the victim, adding that the case has been referred to the Public Complaint Rapid Response Unit, PCRRU. “PCRRU will inform you on next line of action,” Shogunle wrote.
Ifeoluwa, who uploaded a screenshot of a transfer she made to Charles’ bank account, claimed that the suspect and his colleagues threatened to kill her.
“I made a transfer so they can be traced,” she wrote.
