LA Galaxy striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic was issued a red card after slapping an opponent on the head during a game in the Major League Soccer on Monday.
Montreal Impact defender, Michael Petrasso accidentally stepped on the former Manchester United forward, who retaliated with a slap to the back of the defender’s head.
Both players fell to the ground in an effort to win the sympathy of referee Ismail Elfatth. But after a review of the incident on the video assistant referee, Petrasso was showed a yellow card, while the Swede was given his marching orders.
Despite going down to ten men in the 40th minute, LA Galaxy managed to grind out a 1-0 victory, courtesy of Ola Kamara’s goal.
