Mikel Warns Teammates Of Croatia’s Quality

Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi has warned his teammates to be focused ahead of their opening World Cup match against Croatia on Saturday.

Speaking ahead of the match, in a radio programme monitored by Newsbreak.ng on Thursday, the skipper said the Croats are a very good team.

“The game against Croatia will be difficult. We have to make sure we control this game. They are a very good team, a fantastic team with fantastic players,” he said.

He said also said it was crucial for the team to start the  tournament with a good result.

“Every game counts. It’s therefore important that we start in a positive way, build on that so as to qualify from this group,” he added.

Meanwhile, Wilfred Ndidi has been declared 100 per cent fit for the match by the team’s medical team.

Ndidi made a return to the team in the 1-0 friendly defeat to Czech Republic on June 6.
