Mystic Marcus, a psychic pig that predicted President Donald Trump's victory at the polls, has picked Nigeria to qualify for the semifinals of the Russia 2018 World Cup.
Marcus, who lives on a farm in Heage, Derbyshire, United Kingdom, picked the Nigerian flag, the Uruguayan flag, Argentinian and Belgian flags to progress to the last four of the tournament. The 'gifted' pig also predicted Brexit making his predictions seem a bit of something to consider. The black micro pig has previously guessed the winner of the 2014 World Cup and the Wimbledon tennis finals by picking apples.
His owner, Juliette Stevens, says he is the seventh child of a seventh child of a litter making him have special magical powers.
Juliette, 50, said after that first result they changed the method to make it more scientific. Now Mystic Marcus, who has about 30 children and grandchildren, will pick from apples of a similar size and colour to make it as fair as possible. The apples will include markers – such as pictures or flags – and Marcus will gobble down the winner.
According to betting company William Hill the odds on Belgium making it to the semi-finals are 7/4, Argentina 13/8, Nigeria 33/1 and Uruguay 4/1.
The Super Eagles and Argentina are in Group D of the competition and will play against each other on 26 June.
