Ivorian Athlete Blasts Asaba 2018 LOC Over Poor Travel Plans

Ivorian track and field star, Marie-Josee Ta Lou, has berated the Local Organising Committee of the 21st African Senior Athletics Championships, Asaba 2018, over the poor traveling arrangements made for athletes.
Ta Lou who majors in the 100 and 200 metres, took to her Instagram page to vent her frustration after she and several athletes were delayed for hours at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport Lagos on Monday.
“I think this is the first and last time I will come to Nigeria to compete. If you are not ready to organise something please don’t,” the 2015 African Athlete of the Year wrote.
“Three days of travel for some and two days for another, like you travel from Africa to Asia or America.
“I do four time African Champion and it’s my first time to have that kind of bad organisation.”
“No respect for the people.”
More than 52 African countries are expected to take part in this year’s edition which will hold inside the Stephen Keshi Stadium from August 1-5.
