A maid, Josephine Auta, has been arrested for stealing her boss' $20,000 (N7.5 million).
Auta, 22, and others at large were said to have committed the crime on 20 June, 2018 at about 7:30am at Independent Street Ikeja.
According to reports, Josephine Auta forced her Boss’ room opened with a knife while the woman was at work. The money was said to belong to one Egbo Chinwenba Michael.
Earlier, Police prosecutor, Faniyi Anjorin told the court that her boss, names withheld, reported the matter at the police station. He said that the offence contravened section 411 of the Criminal Law Of Lagos State 2015.
Presiding Magistrate, O. Sule Amzat adjourned the case after the suspect pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of theft preferred against her. She was granted N200,000 bail, and the case was adjourned to 25th Of October 2018.
