Man Defrauds Prospective WAEC Candidates

Olakunle Oladeji, 33, has been arraigned before a magistrates’ court sitting in Ikeja for allegedly obtaining the sum of N151,000 under the pretence of enrolling them for the Senior School Certificate Examination, SSCE. His offence is punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State Nigeria 2015.

Oladeji was said to have on June 21 falsely represented himself as an employee of the West Africa Examination Council, WAEC, in the Alagbado area of Lagos.  He was also said to have conducted himself in a manner likely to cause violence, by constituting nuisance in other to avoid arrest.

Abiola Adewale, the police prosecutor, told the court that the defendant committed an offence punishable under sections 78 and 168 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State Nigeria 2015.

Oladeji pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him.

A. Salami, the presiding magistrate, ordered his remand and adjourned the case till July 27 2018.
