Manchester United have contacted Leicester City to inquire about the availability of defender Harry Maguire, according to reports in the British media.
Maguire, 25, had an impressive World Cup campaign with the English Three Lions and his performance at the Mundial was said to have triggered interest from United manager, Jose Mourinho.
It was learnt that Mourinho has impressed on the club's Executive Director, Ed Woodward, his desire to get Maguire on his team roster before the transfer window closes on August 9.
But Leicester, who recently sold Riyad Mahrez to Manchester City, are unwilling to sell any other big player immediately.
Maguire, who has four years left on his existing deal with Leicester, will not submit a transfer request to leave the club, according to sources close to the player.
Ironically, both Leicester and United kick off the new 2018/2019 Premier League season on August 10 at Old Trafford.
