Legendary goalkeepers like Peter Schmeichel, Gianluigi Buffon, Iker Cassilas and David Seaman have all shown supports to Nigerian goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme, who announced his retirement from professional football on Friday following his battle with cancer.
The shot stoppers showed their support in a three minutes video posted on Wolverhampton Wanderers' verified Twitter handle on Saturday with each saying "It's only one Carl Ikeme".
Other known goalkeepers in the video are legendary Italian goalkeeper who was in goal for Italy at the 1990 World Cup Walter Zenga, Mark Schwarzar, former Manchester United keeper Tomasz Kuszczak, Petr Cech and Shay Given.
Also in the video are Barcelona and German star Marc Andre Ter Stegen, Jack Butland, Adam Federici, Lukasz Fabianski and Boaz Myhill.
Ikeme was diagnosed with acute leukaemia after returning abnormal blood tests during a routine pre-season check-up.
On 23 June 2018, he told the public that he was in "complete remission" after "a tough year and intense chemotherapy".
He made his international debut for Nigeria on 5 September 2015 against Tanzania in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualification game.
He made three appearances early on in Nigeria's successful qualification campaign for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, but could not go to the final tournament due to his cancer treatment, which manager Gernot Rohr called his greatest regret.
