Defections: We Anticipated Saraki, Ahmed, Tambuwal’s Exit, Says APC

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has declared that it anticipated the defection of Bukola Saraki, the Senate President; and Governors Abdulfatah Ahmed and Aminu Tambuwal of Kwara and Sokoto States.

Yekini Nabena, APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary, revealed this in a statement on Wednesday in its official reaction to the exit of the political stalwarts from the party.

The statement noted that it was not distracted by their defection as their recent actions indicated their detachment from the party.

The party commended them for being courageous in choosing their political affiliation and thanked them for their contributions.

The APC also encouraged its members in Kwara and Sokoto States to remain steadfast and focus on the 2019 general elections, which it said it would win.

The official reaction is, however, in direct contrast with the resolution issued by the National Secretary of the APC on Wednesday.

The resolution had querried Saraki to explain his defection from the party and asked him to explain in 48 hours or face sanctions.
