A man, James Nworah has been arrested in Anambra for killing his wife with a pestle.
The incident was said to had happened on Tuesday at Number 2 Umudioka Street Ngbuka Nkpor, Idemili North Council Area.
The couple who have five children, three boys and two girls, recently moved into the building.
Eyewitnesses said the suspect who is from Izzi in Abakiliki, Ebonyi state, is alleged to be mentally unstable and was once a commercial motorcyclist, affected by recent Okada ban.
They maintained that the couple were living peacefully and were into pap making business and that the incident happened at about 2am when they had finished sieving the pap they would sell the following day.
According to them, the wife, Jennifer Nworah went in to sleep when the husband came in and hit her on the head with a pestle.
It was also gathered that the man called his brother and told him that he killed his wife before he was arrested by the police.
The Divisional Police Officer at Ogidi Police Station, CSP Mark Ijarafu, who confirmed the incident said that the man would be taken to the State CID.
The remains of the late Jennifer Nworah have been deposited at the mortuary.
