Keylor Navas has said he would remain a Real Madrid player despite the arrival of Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea. Speaking after Real’s 2-1 pre-season victory over Roma in the United States, Navas said he remains committed to the Spanish club. “Tell everyone loud and clear, I have as much enthusiasm for leaving Madrid as I do for dying”, he said. The Costa Rican international joined Real in 2014 and has helped them to win a remarkable three consecutive UEFA Champions League crowns between 2016 and 2018. Navas also helped the Spanish giants lift the La Liga title in 2017. The goalkeeper’s long term future has, however, been in doubt for a while and would be compounded by the £35 million acquisition of Courtois by Real on Wednesday.
