Nigerian midfielder, John Ogu, was on target for his Israeli side Hapoel Beer Sheva but it was not enough as they were held to a 2-2 home draw by Croatia’s Dinamo Zagreb in the second-leg second qualifying round of the 2018/2019 UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
Hapoel Beer Sheva crashed out 7-2 on aggregate after they lost the first-leg 5-0.
Ogu’s Nigerian teammate, Anthony Nwakaeme, was also in action for the Israeli Club.
Ogu opened the scoring for Hapoel Beer Sheva when he got on the score sheet in the 14th minute.
An own goal by Dinamo Zagreb’ s Petar Stojanovic, made it 2-0 to Hapoel Beer Sheva in the 34th minute.
Hapoel’s hope of a dramatic comeback dashed as Mario Budimir pulled a goal back for Dinamo Zagreb on 49 minutes.
And in the 54th minute, Izet Hajrovic completed the comeback for Dinamo to send them into the next round.
