United States President, Donald Trump, on Thursday, demanded his Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, to immediately stop the probe investigating the alleged meddling of Russia in the 2016 presidential election, describing it as a "total hoax."
In a post on his Twitter page, President Trump accused Robert Mueller, the Special Counsel leading the investigation of being "totally conflicted" and asked Sessions to halt it "before it continues to stain our country."
He tweeted, "..This is a terrible situation and Attorney General Jeff Sessions should stop this Rigged Witch Hunt right now, before it continues to stain our country any further. Bob Mueller is totally conflicted, and his 17 Angry Democrats that are doing his dirty work are a disgrace to USA!"
He also accused the administration of his predecessor, Barrack Obama for failing to inform him that Paul Manafort, his campaign manager for 49 days, was under investigation.
Furthermore, the President alleged that the Democrats are the ones flaring up the situation
"Paul Manafort worked for Ronald Reagan, Bob Dole and many other highly prominent and respected political leaders. He worked for me for a very short time. Why didn’t the government tell me that he was under investigation. These old charges have nothing to do with Collusion - a Hoax!
"Russian Collusion with the Trump Campaign, one of the most successful in history, is a TOTAL HOAX. The Democrats paid for the phony and discredited Dossier which was, along with Comey, McCabe, Strzok and his lover, the lovely Lisa Page, used to begin the Witch Hunt. Disgraceful!" he wrote.
President Trump's appeal comes amidst reports that the Special Counsel is said to have reached an advanced stage in the probe and is set to file court cases against the President.
