Christopher Danjuma, coach of the Falconets, has backed the team to pick the maximum point against their next opponent, China. Danjuma said he is confident that the girls would do what is necessary to qualify for the next round of the ongoing World Cup in France. “The thing is this, the World Cup is a different ball game and we have made our mark in the past at this tournament. Because of the target we have set for ourselves, we’ll surpass whatever level people think we can’t reach. The girls will do what is needful against China in our next game,” he said. The Falconets revived their hope of qualifying for the next round on Tuesday, after peeping Haiti 1-0; courtesy of Rasheedat Ajibade’s second half penalty. The Nigerian team, who are now second in Group D with three points, will face China in their last group game on Monday. The game will decide which country joins Germany, who have already qualified for the next round. The German ladies also on Tuesday, recorded a 2-0 victory over China.
