The Nigerian women basketball team, D'Tigress, departed the country on Friday, for Spain, venue of the 2018 FIBA World Cup.
According to report, eleven players and two officials traveled from the Murtala Mohammed Airport to Turkey, before connecting another flight to Spain.
Head coach, Hughley Otis and two other players are expected to depart the country this weekend.
Meanwhile, Spain-based D'Tigress player, Sarah Ugoke, said the second phase of the team's camp, which held in Nigeria, has toughened the players ahead of the competition.
She said, "It's been great, it's been absolutely wonderful, to be able to come back for the second part of our training camp in Nigeria has made us tougher. So we are happy to have been here.
"I feel that we are doing things the right way. You know we had the friendlies scheduled, in fact, too much preparation. Just the next level as we are itching closer to the World Cup in Spain."
The Nigerian team will face powerhouses, Argentina, Turkey, and Australia in their group.
The competition will hold between September 22 and 30, 2018.
