Even though Nigeria is in a season of politicking as the 2019 general election approaches, the country’s political sphere has, once again, been driven into hysteria following reports that Kemi Adeosun, the Minister of Finance, has purportedly resigned.
Adeosun’s reported resignation may not be unconnected with the allegation levelled against her by an online paper, Premium Times, of her presenting a fake National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, exemption certificate for confirmation as Minister.

Kemi Adeosun has resigned but that is not enough. She must be prosecuted for forgery.
Then she should be probed to investigate the possible cases of blackmail she may have been party to.

As usual, Nigerians applauding prospective criminals for doing what they are supposed to do. Kemi Adeosun just resigned over NYSC scandal and some are shouting “She just earned my respect”. Lols like she did us a favour by resigning.

Okay guys, Kemi Adeosun resigns finally.
One down, Buhari to go.
Common baba you can do this, don’t let your children down, just honourably resign. Don’t let Tinubu and the cabal to push you to disgrace, take the step of honour.

Certificate forgery is a Criminal offence but because Buhari who employed her doesn’t have any certificate, arresting Aunty Kemi Adeosun is like telling Nigerians that him too deserves to be arrested too….but who are we to demand for Kemi’s Arrest? Ordinary 7% like us? pic.twitter.com/Q3FKh5KKZE

Mrs Kemi Adeosun, Minister of Finance, Resigns over NYSC Certificate Forgery. I won’t be surprise if she isn’t arrested.
— Victory Thompson (@Chinonu) September 14, 2018
My knowledge of history is quite bad (f9)..
But Have we ever had a minister that has ever resigned in Nigeria apart from the recent resignation of Kemi Adeosun?
I mean voluntary resignation based on allegations and the likes ? pic.twitter.com/w379f9t3nA

Kemi Adeosun resigns following months of silence over NYSC Certificate forgery scandal.
What I don’t understand are the people giving her thumbs up for resigning. This person should have never been in office in the first instance, so there’s nothing noble about her resignation.

Kemi Adeosun’s resignation is good precedence.
At least nobody will tell us no Nigerian Public official has willingly resigned after a scandal.
This is good for Democracy.

KEMI Adeosun was an asset to this govt, but what is wrong is wrong and what must be done must be done. Glad she finally did the right thing.

Kemi Adeosun resigns as Minister of Finance… Good! When will her Boss, Buhari resign for not having a WAEC he claim to have?
— May Ubeku (@Maybeks) September 14, 2018
Wawu… Kemi Adeosun has resigned over alleged NYSC certificate forgery..
I didn’t know Nigerians can resign from public office. 😀
Resigning is not enough, investigate the matter, is she is found guilty, send her to Prison. Make the others learn. 🚶

Typical Nigerian, always reading meaning into anything. I am sure you are part of the people that clamors for Kemi Adeosun to resign, she has done the needful. What has this got to do with PMB 2nd term ambition? https://t.co/MVV110k4wi

I’m OK with Kemi Adeosun’s resignation and I feel sorry for her even though I wanted her to resign.
Woman did too much in a short time that treasury looters had to make sure dirt was dug up on her.
However, she just trod where many never dare to tread
