The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has called for the arrest and prosecution of Kemi Adeosun, former Minister of Finance. The party was reacting to Adeosun’s alleged forgery of her National Youth Service Corpse, NYSC, exemption certificate. The PDP said that the former Minister’s action was an “abuse of office.” “Forgery: We acknowledge the resignation of @HMKemiAdeosun from office as Minister of Finance, but insist on her immediate arrest and prosecution for deserting national service and forging her NYSC Exemption Certificate in addition to alleged impropriety and abuse of office,” PDP wrote on its official twitter handle on Saturday. Adeosun had tendered her resignation on Friday. She said in her resignation letter that she was shocked by the outcome of the investigation done on the allegation that her NYSC certificate, which she had earlier tendered as Commissioner for Finance in Ogun State, was not genuine. She said until the scandal broke out, she never knew the certificate was not genuine.
