Kennedy Boboye, coach of Plateau United, has reportedly left his role following the expiration of his two-year contract. The former Abia Warriors and Sunshine Stars trainer made history in his first year with the Jos-based club by guiding them to their first-ever Nigeria Professional Football League title in 2017. However, the club failed to qualify for the group stage of both the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup this year. The club, which have lost several of their key players since winning the NPFL title, also failed to go beyond the group stage of this year’s Aiteo Cup. According to the report, Boboye has been appointed as one of the coaches for the U-23 National team.
