Six men have been arraigned before an Ebute-Metta court for allegedly attempting to set the Ajeromi Local Government secretariat on fire.
The accused are Charles Morris, 52, Usman Shagari,40, Azeez Muyideen, Fatai Hassan, 18, Abdullahi Adeniyi, 22, Saheed Muritala, 27.
They were said to have behaved themselves in a disorderly manner by carrying cutlass, guns and other dangerous weapons in their attempt to burn down the secretariat.
They were also said to have further destroyed some parts of the building.
Police prosecutor, Omishakin told the court that the defendants committed the offence in October 2018 in the Lagos Magisterial District.
She said the offence contravened and is punishable under Sections 411, 406, 168 (1) (d), 168 (2), 351, 351 (a) (v), 341 (a) and 242.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the four-count charge preferred against them.
Presiding magistrate, Komolafe granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties.
She added that the sureties must be their blood relation.
The case was adjourned till November 20, 2018.
