Nuno Espirito Santo, coach of Premier League side, Wolverhampton and Chelsea playmaker, Eden Hazard, have been named Manager and Player of the Month of September respectively. Wolves did not record any loss in the league in September, picking ten points from a possible 12. The team defeated West Ham United, Burnley, Southampton, and a draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Santos also set a Premier League record for naming the same starting 11 for the club’s first eight matches of a season. He received his award with the the club’s medical staff, who he said have helped to keep his Wolves squad injury free. Nuno said: “It represents the effort of everybody working here in Compton, everyone at Molineux, our fans, the players, everybody. There’s no individual prizes in football, everything comes from the team. Everybody is in the pack.” He was nominated for the award alongside Arsenal’s Unai Emery, Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola and Liverpool ,manager, Jurgen Klopp. Unsurprisingly, Hazard, who is currently with the Belgian national team, won the EA Sport player of the month for the second time. The pacy forward scored five goals within the month, including a hattrick against Cardiff City. He picked the award for the first time in October 2016. The 27-year-old has helped Chelsea with his dazzling performances as joint-table toppers with front-runners, Manchester City and Liverpool; all on 20 points each.
