‘Black Panther’ Becomes First Marvel Film To Get Golden Globes Nomination

Black Panther has made history as the first Marvel film to be nominated for Golden Globe. Well, many are tipping it to be a first winner.

The 2018 hit, starring Chadwick Boseman, is the highest-grossing film of the year and has now surprised people further with its nomination.

Along with Black Panther, BlacKkKlansman, Bohemian Rhapsody, If Beale Street Could Talk and A Star Is Born were all nominated in the category.

Already the third-highest-grossing movie of all time in the US, behind only “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and “Avatar” in non-adjusted dollars, the Ryan Coogler-directed movie has been a huge hit for Marvel and its parent company, Disney.

Its success has represented a significant cultural milestone, as a theatrical blockbuster with a predominantly black cast and director.

The film shot to the top of the box office, taking in a staggering $1.34 billion by the end of May 2018.

Marvel has already announced it will be doing a sequel to the film, but it’s exact release date has not yet been confirmed.
