Samuel Ortom, Governor of Benue State, on Saturday said rigging and all other electoral malpractices would not be tolerated during the conduct of the 2019 general elections in the state.
The governor said this at a rally of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Vandeikya Local Government Area of the state.
According to him, nothing would be left to chance during the polls, adding that the electorate must be conscious and guard their votes for their will to reflect.
“We are not going to allow that to happen in Benue. We will certainly leave nothing to chance,” he said.
Governor Ortom urged residents of the state to elect all PDP candidates at the election, promising that the party’s candidates would serve with distinction and honour.
“I want to implore you to vote en masse for all candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party. Do not select any of them to vote for no matter the circumstances,” he said.
