Struggling French Ligue 1 club, AS Monaco, have suspended head coach, Thierry Henry.

The move comes following a poor run of results that places them in the relegation zone.

Just two days ago, they were knocked out of the France Cup by FC Metz.

The club announced Henry’s suspension on their official website on Thursday.

“AS Monaco announces that it has decided to suspend first-team coach Thierry Henry.

“Franck Passi will train the professional group this Friday,” the club wrote.

There had been speculation that Monaco were set to sack Henry, who took over just three months ago, and replace him with predecessor Leonardo Jardim.

The 2017 French champions are 18th on the league table after five wins in 20 games under Henry.

They have not won in the league since the start of December when they beat Amiens 2-0.  the suspension comes two days after they were knocked out of the France Cup by FC Metz.
